Bed with Sequential LED Lighting
Custom LED Lighting Control for a Magnetoelectrics Project
LED lighting can serve not only as a decorative feature but also as a unique element of interior design. A great example is a project completed by Magnetoelectrics – Łukasz Mikulski, featuring a bed with sequential LED lighting integrated into a geometric headboard design.
The installation features LED lines arranged along the irregular geometric sections of the upholstered headboard. When the animation is activated, individual segments gradually illuminate, creating a wave of light moving across the entire structure. The sequence is complemented by lighting underneath the bed, giving it a visually floating appearance.
The warm light emphasizes the elegant character of the interior, while the dynamic illumination transforms an ordinary piece of furniture into a distinctive decorative feature.
Elegant F146 Controller with Custom-Designed Lighting Effects
The lighting system is controlled by an Elegant F146 controller with a remote control, featuring firmware customized to meet the client’s specific requirements.
Based on an animation provided by the client, we developed dedicated lighting effects that reproduce the intended sequence of individual LED segments. This allowed us to precisely adapt the controller’s operation to the unique geometry and design of the installation.
As part of the firmware customization, we also removed unnecessary standard effects. This simplified operation, leaving only the functions required for this particular project.
The entire lighting system can be conveniently operated using a remote control, without the need for additional devices.
Additional Control via Elegant R240
In addition to remote control operation, we also developed an alternative control option using a modified Elegant R240 Wi-Fi bridge.
The bridge firmware was extended to support the custom lighting effect developed specifically for this project. As a result, the dedicated animation can also be activated through the R240-based control system.
This project demonstrates how Elegant LED controllers can be adapted to non-standard applications by developing custom lighting effects, modifying firmware functionality, and providing alternative control methods.
