Freight and passenger construction elevator call system
Project created in cooperation with:
Freight-passenger elevator systems typically do not come equipped with a call system by default. The innovative call mechanism offers a solution to this problem. It does not require any interference with the elevator system and functions as a separate device indicating which floor to travel to. This makes work easier and significantly speeds up construction tasks at height. The device can be connected to any power source in the elevator or selected in a battery-powered version, eliminating the need for additional certifications for the lift. As a manufacturer, we can adapt to the specific needs of the customer if modifications to the power supply or changes to the software are necessary.
The system has the following features:
- The system uses radio communication with a range of 400 to 800 meters. This allows elevator operators to maintain constant contact with the central unit, even over large areas. Additionally, if the range is insufficient, a signal repeater can be used to extend the system’s range.
- The system has been practically tested on skyscraper construction sites with 40 floors. This proves that the system performs excellently even in challenging conditions and can be a reliable solution for servicing large buildings.
- The installation of the elevator system is non-invasive, meaning it does not require significant changes to the building’s structure. The central unit only needs to be connected to a power supply with a voltage of 230 to 400V, making the system installation easier.
- The call buttons in the elevators are battery-powered, which means they are independent of external power sources. One set of batteries lasts for at least two years of elevator operation, as practically tested. This eliminates the need for frequent battery changes and ensures system reliability.
- The elevator call system is very easy to use, meaning operators can handle it without difficulty. This advantage speeds up learning and minimizes the risk of errors.
- The system allows for the management of multiple parallel elevators. Call requests, i.e., floor numbers to travel to, do not overlap in subsequent cabins. This ensures smooth communication between the operators and the central unit and minimizes confusion.
- The display in the elevator system is clear and easy to read. It is additionally protected by a very thick polycarbonate protective glass, 8mm thick. This ensures the durability and safety of the display even in the event of potential damage.
- The call buttons are vandal-resistant, meaning they are protected against damage or destruction caused by vandals. This feature contributes to the system’s durability and reliability.
The construction elevator call system offers many benefits. First, it significantly reduces the waiting time for workers at heights, allowing them quick access to the elevator, which translates into increased work efficiency. Second, it enhances safety on the construction site by eliminating unnecessary movement through hazardous areas. Additionally, monitoring and recording elevator usage helps in resource management and optimal use of the available transport within the building.
The operation of this product is intuitive. When the button is pressed by the waiting person, the central unit displays the floor number where the caller is located, along with the message ‘NEW.’ The central operator can accept this request, and it will be added to the list of tasks. It is possible to remove individual requests from the list by selecting the floor number using the arrows and pressing the ‘DELETE’ button (or ‘KASUJ’ in the Polish language version).
The central unit also has a time-tracking function for accepted requests. The number representing the floor on the central display is green, but after a certain time has passed, the color changes to yellow or red, indicating that the request has been waiting for the elevator for an extended period.
It is also possible to block the acceptance of requests and the operation of the central unit by activating the pause function. To do this, press and hold the ‘left arrow’ and ‘right arrow’ buttons simultaneously for a longer time. The pause function can be deactivated in the same way.
The central unit allows the addition of buttons and bells to the system. They can also be removed from the central unit’s memory.
In the case of low battery levels in the buttons, the central unit will signal this to the operator. If the operator presses the ‘ACCEPT’ or ‘DELETE’ button (‘AKCEPTUJ’ or ‘KASUJ’ in the Polish version), the low battery warning screen will disappear, and the low battery information will be cleared.
