Animations with Analogue LED Neon Flex 12/24 V

Analogue LED Neon Flex does not have to be limited to static signs and outlines. By dividing a sign into independently controlled sections, it can be brought to life without using digital, addressable LED strips.

Animated Ice Cream Vendor

The character is divided into static elements and several alternative positions of the arms and ice cream scoops. Switching between them in sequence creates the impression that the ice cream vendor is moving and juggling.

This example demonstrates how sections in different colours can be combined, how their brightness can be adjusted and how more complex, repeatable lighting sequences can be created.

This type of solution can be used in signs for ice cream parlours, restaurants, food outlets, amusement parks and other commercial venues.

Animated Dancer

In this animation, the main outline of the character remains visible while successive shapes of the dress are activated in sequence. This creates the impression of moving, flowing fabric.

Each position of the dress can be made as a separate section of analogue LED Neon Flex. The controller manages the switching sequence, brightness and overall animation speed.

The same principle can be used to animate characters, clothing, hair, wings, flames and other graphic elements.

Animated DOG HOUSE Neon Sign

In this simulation, the main outline of the dog and the lettering can remain steadily illuminated, while the moving elements are activated sequentially by the controller. The programmed sequence creates the impression of the dog wagging its tail and a sausage moving towards its mouth.

This example shows how even a relatively simple sign made from analogue LED Neon Flex can be enhanced with a clear, eye-catching animation.

The videos show computer simulations of effects that can be created using separate sections of 12/24 V analogue LED Neon Flex. For each project, we individually prepare the division of the design into sections, the wiring concept and the controller program.

How Is Analogue LED Neon Flex Animated?

Each element that needs to operate independently is made as a separate lighting section and connected to an individual controller output. One output can also control several parts of the sign if they are intended to switch on and off simultaneously.

The impression of movement is created by switching between a sequence of previously designed animation “frames”. These may represent different positions of an arm, tail, object, character element or part of the lettering.

The controller can:

• activate sections in a predefined sequence,
• smoothly adjust their brightness,
• create pulsing and flickering effects,
• change the animation speed,
• play the programmed sequence in a continuous loop,
• switch automatically between different programs,
• respond to a remote control, push button, sensor or signal from another device.

Unlike digital LED strips, the light does not travel pixel by pixel. Instead, complete and independently controlled parts of the design are animated.

Animation Tailored to Each Sign

Every animation is individually developed by the alesterowniki.pl team. The way the sign is divided into sections, the activation sequence, brightness levels and animation speed are all adapted to the specific project.

Multiple effects can be stored in the controller and selected using a remote control, push button or automatic sequence. Several operating modes can also be created, such as a calm daytime animation, a more dynamic evening program or an effect activated when a person is detected.

The solution has been developed primarily for sign makers and signage manufacturers who want to offer animated lettering, logos and graphics while continuing to use proven 12/24 V analogue LED Neon Flex technology.

What Effects Can Be Created?

Controlling individual sections of analogue LED Neon Flex makes it possible to create:

• moving elements within characters and graphics,
• animated logos and symbols,
• letters illuminated in a predefined sequence,
• lettering filled from the left, from the centre or from the edges,
• alternating outlines,
• smooth fading in and out,
• pulsing and traditional neon start-up simulations,
• flickering of selected parts of the sign,
• random and irregular effects,
• variable animation speeds,

• animations activated by a remote control, push button or sensor.

The brightness of individual parts of the sign can also be controlled independently. For example, the main outline can remain illuminated at a lower brightness while the other elements perform a more dynamic animation.
